Expectations of toronto.ca/open

By Michael Hardner

I followed the recent MESH conference in Toronto, mostly with an eye to tag the various groups that are out there working for Democracy 2.0.

At MESH, Mayor David Miller announced that toronto.ca/open would be making data available in the fall.

In anticipation of this event, I'm asking people on the web what they would like to see from the city, and what they expect.

I would like to see a dashboard report of key metrics that most Torontonians would use in their assessment of how successful the city is. This would include summaries of our health statistics, our wealth, the efficiency and effectiveness of city programs, and specific tracking of any promises made for improvements.

What I expect to see is a set of new applications that notify citizens about city service: transit use and so forth.

What about you ?
