Just curious guys, what are some ways that we can encourage people to drop off their cars at the parking terminals and take advantage of BRT? With new terminals coming online in the next few years, the city needs to develop some way to get people to use the new buses.
I like the idea that the city is putting in motion, but I still have doubts on how many people will be willing to let go of their vehicles to take the buses.
Bus Rapid Transit
By VicenteWhere can I find more information on the plan? Back home, I used to leave my car at a parking lot for the light rail. I felt comfortable because it was well lite, and the city had transit cops that patrolled (along with undercover transit cops).
I would have done it anyway but it helped that the company I worked for gave incentives to use public transit (they would refund a portion of the monthly pass rate), I don't know if the city/county gave them any tax incentives for that but something to think about.
The city had convenient day pass dispensers everywhere so there were no lines.
BRT
By davidberchI am thinking the sun metro site should have some good info or maybe the El Paso MPO?

Incentives are a great idea to help encourage bus use.
Transport
By DustinYTransport is an essential element of our society. It determines where we live, where we work and how we enjoy our leisure time. It enables the exchange of goods that are essential to our economy. It has resulted in a global economy. Growth in demand is linked to growth in the economy. As we get richer, we travel further and faster. And traveling further and faster uses more energy and produces more emissions. Transport is now one of the largest components of our energy use and this proportion is growing. Because of the dominance of the airplane, transport fuel use is dominated by burning hydrocarbons with resultant carbon dioxide production. It is largely because of growing transport demand that we will certainly fail to meet our emissions targets.
Indeed this problem is becoming ever more intractable because of the present lack of coherent Government energy, transport and environment policy. There are website that are useful in looking for a good travel moment you san have. Airfarewatchdog is a useful website. Airfarewatchdog does the work for you of checking out where you can find the lowest cheap airfare. It could save you from needing no fax payday loans during the holidays for air travel. You can't book the flight through the site, however, it just finds it for you and you have to go book it yourself. Granted, you could have done it yourself in 15 more minutes, but it doesn't cost you a thing. You don't need online cash advances to book a cheap flight through Airfarewatchdog.
